BJ’s Wholesale Club had been a PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) customer since 2002, was comfortably using the stable PeopleSoft 9 release — even with little meaningful support from Oracle — and had no plans to upgrade. A change in company ownership triggered a massive and costly project to add SAP financials, merchandising and logistics to the systems lineup. Paying excessive maintenance fees to Oracle for limited PeopleSoft support no longer made sense. The retailer needed to identify a lower-cost, alternative support solution while it worked out its ERP and HCM roadmaps.

Bringing Rimini Street on board made a big difference to IT operations. BJ's Wholesale Club now receives much more value from a significantly less expensive maintenance contract. Personalized support from a Rimini Street Primary Support Engineer (PSE) included the many PeopleSoft customizations that were not supported by the vendor. The company has been able to redirect substantial savings to the SAP project.
