LAS VEGAS - October 26, 2005 - Rimini Street, Inc., a third-party alternative maintenance and support provider for Siebel (NASDAQ: SEBL) software licensees, today announced the appointment of Dennis Chiu as vice president of Support Services. Chiu joins Rimini Street directly from Siebel Systems, where as the director of Technical Support for Siebel Systems' two premier support centers in northern California, he had full operational responsibility for more than 100 engineers supporting all Siebel products and releases for customers worldwide.
"Dennis brings additional, extensive support delivery experience to the management team and we welcome him to Rimini Street. In his new role, Dennis will lead the development and deployment of our next-generation software support model that will provide Rimini Street clients with senior support engineer response in less than 30 minutes, 24x7, at a savings of more than 50 percent, compared with current Siebel Systems annual support fees," said Seth Ravin, Rimini Street president and CEO. "The addition of Dennis to the Rimini Street management team marks another important milestone towards our on-target plan to begin serving Siebel licensees in the first quarter of 2006."
Added Chiu, "I'm very pleased to join Rimini Street, and look forward to providing Siebel licensees a credible, value-driven annual maintenance service alternative that is completely designed to meet the support and financial needs of each client. The software industry is clearly changing. Software licensees are concerned with continually upgrading to new releases and funding costly vendor development projects, and want to see solid value for their annual support fees and a measurable return on their existing software investment. Rimini Street will deliver exactly the value that clients want and need."
Earlier this month, Rimini Street announced the opening of its new Global Support Center in Foster City, Calif. and the appointment of Thomas Shay as chief technology officer. Additionally, Rimini Street is currently working with Siebel licensees to design and offer an alternative annual support program that meets the needs of licensees who wish to remain supported on Siebel 6.x and 7.x releases without any required upgrades, that provides highly responsive service with named support engineers, and that offers significant savings in annual maintenance fees.
Rimini Street will announce additional key appointments and milestones leading up to the first quarter 2006 launch.
