Jim Hillier is an award winning 30-year veteran of Information Security and Technology across both public and private sectors. As a CTO, CIO, and CISO, Jim has spearhead up to 100 plus staff in optimizing security, technology, and business functions from daily operations to policy implementation. He is adept at building high-performing in-house and remote teams while strategizing and executing plans related to information, cyber, physical, and operations security, securing data, intellectual property, physical assets, and personnel. Designing and patenting four software programming concepts used for online education as the chief architect, managing a team of developers across three countries (U.S., Philippines, and India).
Building an effective end-user awareness training program for 2400+ employees, ensuring proper security for cyberspace operations.
Executing the hardware aspects for $70M worth of IT infrastructure projects, including the build out of six campuses, two centers, and labs in ten different states.
Creating full-fledged vendor risk monitoring programs and internal monitoring programs to ensure the functionality of information security controls.
Establishing the first Computer Incident Response Team and corresponding plans at several institutions.
Defining, developing, and deploying strategic technology/cyber security planning and steering processes to create security architecture roadmaps for both on premises and Cloud environments.
Managed contracts, procurement, equipment acquisition and partnerships for on premise and public/private cloud environments; ensuring vendor SLA’s (performance) and deliverables were met.
