USi and Rimini Street Form Alliance to Provide On-Going PeopleSoft Support Options
Hosted and Remote-Managed Clients Benefit from Application Support Alternatives
ANNAPOLIS, MD and LAS VEGAS (December 5, 2006) - USi (www.usi.com), an AT&T Company and a leading Application Service Provider (ASP), and Rimini Street, a leading independent provider of enterprise software support, today announced an alliance to provide USi clients a single source option for hosted PeopleSoft as well as application support and maintenance.
The new alliance agreement allows Rimini Street Support for USi clients to be added by request to USi client service agreements. The offering is designed to seamlessly integrate USi's world-class client support model with Rimini Street's back-end software maintenance. All told, the offering provides a cost-effective, turnkey solution for application outsourcing, support and maintenance and can reduce annual software maintenance costs by up to 50 percent. In addition, the alliance provides clients with the option of working with their existing PeopleSoft release for up to ten years, slowing the need for upgrades while providing full tax and regulatory support, a key component of ongoing maintenance.
Third party support for enterprise applications has become a growing trend and valuable strategy for organizations of all sizes and across industries in recent years. "With annual software maintenance costs rising in recent years, many organizations are looking at alternatives that provide the service they need at a price point that creates value. To address these concerns, some organizations are considering application outsourcing, third-party maintenance, or a combination of the two," said Matt Healey, senior research analyst for IDC's Software and Hardware Support Services program.
