Rimini Street Announces Delivery of 2009-F Tax, Legal, and Regulatory Update
Proven Methodology Consistently Delivers High-Quality Updates; Global Capabilities to Support Tax, Legal and Regulatory Updates for More Than 100 Countries
Las Vegas, December 7, 2009 - Rimini Street, Inc., the leading third-party maintenance and support provider for enterprise software, including Oracle Corporation's (NASDAQ: ORCL) for Siebel, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards software, and SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) software, today announced delivery of its 2009-F Update containing critical year-end tax, legal, and regulatory updates required by clients. Like all previous tax, legal, and regulatory updates, Rimini Street provided the update ahead of the software vendor's own planned release date for its equivalent update.
The year-end 2009-F Update is among the most complex of the year for clients with US and Canadian operations. In the US, Internal Revenue Service tax changes will affect nearly all employers and employees. In Canada, Canadian Revenue Agency tax changes contain dozens of Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial tax changes that will affect a wide range of employers and employees. Rimini Street promptly addressed the most recent changes from the IRS and CRA and delivered them to clients in this update. Both the U.S. and Canadian tax changes take effect January 1, 2010.
In addition to the IRS and CRA tax changes, Rimini Street incorporated many state and local tax changes in the 2009-F update that are also effective January 1, 2010. State tax changes included revised payroll withholding tables and unemployment insurance taxable wage base figures as well as minimum wage increases, modified garnishment rules, and updated tax reciprocity agreements. Local tax changes applied to cities, counties, and school districts. Many revised year-end reporting requirements were also addressed, including support for revised IRS and CRA transmittal documents and printed forms.
Delivery of the 2009-F Update follows delivery of required IRS 1099 updates to Rimini Street clients that use payables financial products. The IRS 1099 updates contain critical tax and regulatory changes to comply with the IRS's requirements for their Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) system.
"Metro Vancouver is impressed with Rimini Street's responsive service, knowledge of our PeopleSoft environment, and attention to detail in the delivery of our tax and regulatory updates," said Karen Turner, manager of IT business systems, Metro Vancouver. "Rimini Street consistently provides us with timely updates ahead of our deadline, and their update quality reduces the time, effort and expense of applying them."
Rimini Street's tax and regulatory strategy and scoping team works with government organizations, secondary, and tertiary sources to ensure the latest tax and regulatory updates for more than 100 countries are immediately identified, analyzed, and scoped for development as needed. The Rimini Street development and quality assurance teams then code, extensively test, package, and re-verify updates as necessary for accuracy with government agencies. This proven methodology consistently assures the fastest "legislature-to-live"SM update delivery cycle and highest quality deliverables in the industry.
"Rimini Street is the only enterprise software support provider capable of delivering comprehensive tax and regulatory updates for more than 100 countries," said Brian Slepko, senior vice president, global operations, Rimini Street. "We continue to expand our tax, legal, and regulatory update coverage around the world to meet the needs of our global clients.
