It takes just one individual to make a change in the world. And that’s exactly how Especially Needed was formed. Heather Astuto, a mother to a daughter living with Down Syndrome, decided to create an organization that provided resources to families with special needs members as well as opportunities to enjoy festivities and experiences designed specifically to accommodate their unique abilities.
The organization’s Fall Carnival and Resource Fair allows families to connect with one another and enjoy a magical Halloween celebration designed specifically for them, as well as meet with vendors and organizations that specialize in resources for families with special needs members.
For the Texas Team Volunteer Month 2018 Activity, we assisted Especially Needed with their clean up shift, packing up and moving everything back into storage for organizing and preparations for their next year events. We are so proud of our dozens of volunteers who helped make a big difference in the lives of our Texas families with special children needing a little extra love from all of us.
