Through no fault of their own, hundreds of thousands of children around the world are removed from their home each year and placed in temporary shelters and fosters homes. The number of children in foster care has increased due to a number of reasons – an uptick in parental drug abuse, chronic economic challenges, and because of unfortunate cases of abuse and neglect. Whatever the reason may be, we can all agree every child deserves a fair chance in life, a healthy environment to thrive, and education and opportunity to reach their fullest potential. And homes like Lar Casa Bela are where these dreams for a grand future come to life.
Lar Casa Bela was founded in 2012 in Sorocaba, São Paulo and have since transformed the lives of hundreds of children who have been brought to their sanctuary. Here, children from the ages of 0-17 are given a safe place to lay their heads, clothes, home cooked meals, medical care, and proper education. They work closely with the families of the children, providing them with support and the steps necessary to reconnect and remedy the home situation. Their ultimate goal is to return the child to their biological family as numerous studies have shown children have a greater chance of success when raised with blood relatives versus foster families. When reuniting is not an option, Lar Casa Bela works hard to find the right adoptive or foster family for a fresh start.
Rimini Street is thankful for the opportunity to support Lar Casa Bela as they have brought relief, comfort, and smiles to hundreds of children in their most vulnerable time of need. Thank you, Lar Casa Bela and the brave children you serve. We are cheering you on!
