During Team Japan’s Volunteer Month, we invited the Director of Mori Rai, a non-profit organization of Forest Lifestyle Research Institute for a special project at our Tokyo office. We put down our laptops and phones and instead, picked up colored masking tape, box cutters, and wooden squares to create a set of educational wooden puzzles for the children affected by the tsunami of 2011 which claimed the lives of tens of thousands and left hundreds of thousands more fighting to recover from the tragedy.
