“Customers need not wait several years to complete upgrades to access AI innovations offered by software vendors. On-premises customers can access innovation now when it is most needed in these economically uncertain and inflationary conditions.”

Compare Rimini Support™ vs SAP support

What’s going on?

SAP is ending mainstream maintenance for some versions of ECC and offering extended maintenance at a premium cost for others.* Their answer is a forced migration. We think otherwise.

What should you do?

Assess Rimini Street to replace your existing SAP annual support agreement up through 2040 or longer. Notify SAP before September 30, 2025 or you’ll be stuck with that contract for another year.

What’s in it for you?

Save up to 90% savings on total support costs, extend the life of your existing SAP releases, avoid wasting resources on migrations and spend that savings on innovation to accelerate business value.

Unlock ERP Value to Accelerate Business Transformation

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the roadmap options for SAP customers?

SAP customers have two main roadmap options: follow SAP’s prescribed path — migrating from ECC to S/4HANA and eventually adopting RISE with SAP — or choose an independent route that avoids long-term commercial lock-in. The independent path supports a “composable ERP” strategy, allowing organizations to integrate best-of-breed technologies like SAP, Salesforce or Workday into a flexible, business-aligned architecture.

What are the risks of an ECC to S/4HANA migration project?

An ECC to S/4HANA migration carries significant risks due to its complexity, cost and the potential for limited business value if the end result doesn’t deliver meaningful change. The greatest risks arise when organizations attempt to redesign or replace customizations — decisions that can introduce delays, cost overruns and operational disruption — especially when similar innovation goals could be achieved more safely through enhancements around the existing ERP system.

How does the Rimini Street and ServiceNow partnership change the landscape for SAP customers?

The Rimini Street and ServiceNow partnership offers SAP customers an alternative roadmap that accelerates innovation across the enterprise software landscape. Rimini Street brings deep ERP expertise, while ServiceNow enables a unified, AI-enhanced interface that streamlines workflows across applications — empowering businesses to innovate without being constrained by traditional SAP limitations and migration mandates.

SAP calls it RISE. We call it risk.

Disruptors don’t follow SAP’s roadmap – they carve their own path to the future.

*SAP support deadlines:

  • ECC 6 customers with EHP versions 0 through 5 will see the end of mainstream support in 2025 with no Extended Maintenance offered.
  • ECC 6 customers with EHP versions 6, 7 and 8, will face the end of mainstream support in 2027. Extended Maintenance is offered—but at an estimated additional cost of two percentage points—through 2030.
  • With S/4HANA version 2020, mainstream support ends 2025. Extended support will cost you an additional four percentage points on estimate.
  • For S/4HANA version 2021 the end comes in 2026; and for version 2022, it’s 2027. Again, it’s either migrate or pay more for extended maintenance if you stick with SAP support.
