Grooms maintains that third-party support can help an organization grow its relationship with SAP and take greater advantage of SAP products such as S/4HANA cloud. He recommends beginning the discussion with the highest-level SAP executive available, and then requesting to be treated like a new customer.

He also stresses the importance of following a business roadmap first and then overlaying the SAP roadmap to identify potential alignment opportunities.
