In the U.S. and Canada, there were numerous tax, legal, and regulatory updates required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and various state, local and provincial agencies.
At the U.S. federal government level, Rimini Street updates contained reporting changes to assist with the Additional Medicare Tax withholding specified on IRS Form 941. In addition, updates were delivered for state withholding tables, allowance amounts and Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) tax changes. New wage garnishment rules were delivered for California and Idaho, effective July 1, 2013, and several local tax updates were also provided for municipalities in Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
For clients in Canada, Rimini Street delivered updates to address changes published by the CRA, effective July 1, 2013. The New Brunswick Budget, tabled on March 26, 2013, announced that effective January 1, 2013, the province will increase the provincial tax rates.

In Brazil, Rimini Street’s tax, legal and regulatory team is working on updates for Accounting SPED, the electronic delivery of Daily and Journal books required by the Brazilian Internal Revenue Service.
