The SAP ECC end of mainstream support deadline is fast approaching, and for many the clock could be ticking faster than anticipated. Surprisingly, over half of these customers – more than 11,000 – are using EhP5 or an even earlier version, which means their end date is actually in 2025. Even more alarming, 40% of these users are completely unaware of the deadline.
This isn’t just an issue for SAP ECC customers. Many S/4HANA clients are using releases for which mainstream maintenance will expire in 2025. Those on versions 1511-1809 are already out of support – with no extension![1]
A closer look at the maintenance timelines for SAP ERP 6.0:
- If you’re an ECC 6 customer using EHP versions 0-5, prepare for the end of mainstream support in 2025. There are no options for Extended Maintenance.1
- Those using EHP versions 6-8 can expect mainstream support until 2027. Extended Maintenance is available at an extra cost of 2 percentage points on estimate (typically equates to 9+% fee increase) until 2030.
- S/4HANA version 2020 customers, your mainstream support ends in 2025. Extended support is available, but it will cost an additional 4 percentage points on estimate (typically equates to 18+% fee increase), unless you opt for RISE with SAP.
- For S/4HANA versions 2021 and 2022, the end comes in 2026 and 2027 respectively. It’s either migrate or pay more for extended maintenance if you stick with SAP support.
